Guided Tours
I. Exhibition of a unique Romanesque monument of European significance - the St.Maurus Shrine
II. Castle Interiors (Library, St. Peter's Chapel, Room of Graphic Art, Tapestry Hall...etc.)
III. Combined Tour (reduced admission)
Currently, offer two guided tours, 45 minutes long, or combined for a reduced price.
The tours can be combined consecutively.
Groups are up to 25 persons maximum, large groups of visitors will be split into smaller groups.
The only tour that is (partially) accessible to unaccompanied wheelchair users, is the II. tour – Castle Interiors - which is partially accesible (First Room – history, Entrance Hall – imaginary portraits of Roman Emperors, Library – one of the most authentically preserved spaces in the castle).
The II. tour then continues to the second floor. The first floor is dedicated to the St. Maurus Shrine- exhibition.
Visitors with reduced motor function are treated with respect and tours can be adapted to their needs. Disabled people on a wheelchair accompanied by persons who can carry them to the first or second floor can access our exhibition fully. However, these special tours should be negotiated in advance with the administration. There is a bell with a wheelchair symbol to the right of the entrance door, in order to summon, an employee as the entrance to the cash desk room is not barrier-free. Please, note that there is no barrier-free toilet on the premises.
